Dexplicit is a grime producer and DJ, but has also made moves in the bassline scene, with songs such as 'Bulla Cake' and 'Might Be'. He began to produce music as a teenager, starting with mostly hip hop, and moved into the burgeoning garage scene. He released his first EP, 'UK Ravers', on Sticky's label 'Social Circles' in 2003. Dexplicit is known within the grime and bassline scenes, with plans to release funky house also. Awarded 'Best Underground Producer' at the 2005 UMA Awards, he is now the owner of 'DXP Recordings'. Black the ripper's next mixtape, Black Magic, will feature production from Dexplicit and will be released on DXP Recordings. With his success on UK shores he has taken his talent across the world playing in:
- New York
- Australia
- Hong Kong
- Across Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland etc)
Well known worldwide as 'The Godfather of Bassline' with a cabinet full of awards he has now released his new album looking to enjoy more success within the music industry.
Forward Riddim
In the grime scene, Dexplicit is probably best known for producing "Forward Riddim", arguably the most popular grime track to date, which got the crowd so hyped up that it was banned in many clubs. Dexplicit's productions were given good airplay by Heat FM DJ Slik D, and Lethal Bizzle was interested in vocalling them. After originally planning to record over the instrumental 'Might Be', Dexplicit gave Lethal 'Forward', resulting in Forward Riddim. The song achieved good chart success, despite its uncompromising sound. It reached #11 in the UK Singles' Chart, even after being banned in various Essex nightclubs. The song also went to America, being vocaled by hip hop giants such as Jay-Z and Memphis Bleek.
The New Album
DigiKinesis’ is the debut album of one of the UK’s most recognised producers - Dexplicit. Creator of the 2004 chart anthem ‘POW’ with Lethal B and countless remixes for artists as diverse as MIA to The Wideboys; Dexplicit now takes you on an eclectic voyage with an energetic fusion of musical genres. Featuring Grime, Dubstep, House and Bassline, the album boasts collaborations with well known artists such as Groove Armada star Stush, Grime’s Black The Ripper and UK Hip Hopper Random Impulse, alongside newcomers Nadia Rae, and Sweets. From upfront club beats and sublime instrumentals to festival rousers this album is sure to delight new and old fans alike.
